Fairshare

Terms of service

Last updated 4 October 2026. Version 2026-10-04.

These terms are the agreement between you and Fairshare. By creating an account you agree to them and to the privacy policy. They are short on purpose. Please read them.

Who we are

Fairshare is run by Johannes van der Merwe, a sole trader in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact: support@pangolin.technology.

Who can use it

You must be 16 or over to create an account. Fairshare is for your own household, flatshare, club or small team. You are responsible for what you put into it, including other people's names.

Your account

Teams

Everyone in a team can see that team's tasks, completions, names and notes. Team admins can invite and remove members, change roles and edit or delete the team's tasks and history. If you leave a team or delete your account, what happens to your history in it is set out in the privacy policy.

What you must not do

If you do, we may suspend or close your account. Unless the problem is serious or urgent, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

Your content

What you add to Fairshare stays yours. You let us store it, process it and show it to the members of your teams, only so we can run the service.

Price

Fairshare is free to use. We may introduce charges in future. If we do, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before any charge applies, and you will never be enrolled in a paid plan automatically: you will only be charged if you choose to opt in.

The service

Fairshare is run by one person. We work to keep it available and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults, and we may change features over time. If we ever decide to close Fairshare, we will email you at least 30 days ahead so you can download your data.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Your rights as a consumer are not affected.

Otherwise we are responsible only for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to take reasonable care. We are not responsible for business losses: Fairshare is for personal and household use.

Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by deleting your account from your account page. These terms end when you do.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, we update them here and change the date and version at the top. If a change matters to you, we will email you before it applies. If you do not agree to it, you can delete your account.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your own courts.

If something goes wrong, email us first: most problems are quicker to fix than to argue about.
